One for the Hyrule-rs.

Now it’s not just Ganon who gets to live out his fantasy of taking over all Hyrule, as Nintendo and Hasbro will launch Monopoly: The Legend of Zelda in September.

Players can embark on their epic quest with specially Zelda-themed pieces — Triforce, Hylian shield, hookshot, boomerang and bow — and authentic shades of Monopoly rupees. XYAB can’t wait to thrust our cards into the air and make that dumb noise when we get Community Chest.

Destinations like the Temple of Time, Minish Village and Dragon Roost Island have been substituted for the familiar Monopoly properties. Stations are replaced with Link’s most famous modes of transport such as Epona, King of Red Lions and Loftwing. Houses are transformed into Deku Sprouts and Hotels are Deku Trees. Yet Free Parking is still on the board…

US retailer GameStop has listed the board game for pre-order on its website with several exclusives including an Ocarina of Time player token, six extra item cards themed around games in the Zelda series and a lithograph of Hyrule for that old-timey effect.

Monopoly was created in the United States early in the last century and eventually published by Parker Brothers, with the UK version being distributed by Waddingtons. Hasbro publishes the game at the moment and oodles of licensed novelty boards like the The Legend of Zelda set hail from licensee USAopoly.

Monopoly: The Legend of Zelda arrives in stores on September 15.
